Wooden Bar

An easy to dissemble but still beautiful Red Oak Bar.
This was a project purely aimed at trying to make a bar and challenge my wood working skills. Part of this was we lived in a multi level condo, and wanted to make it easy to move around.
I started off by sketching out a rough design, laying out some drawings on the floor to get a sense of what the right size would be. I also went to a few bars with a tape measure to get the height right. The bartenders always looked at me strange when i pulled out a tape measure. This is designed in such a way that the panel on the front is a single piece of red oak, but the ridging which looks like fun design elements hides the seams of the bar. This gives an illusion of it being a single piece, when really it breaks into 3 pieces. A smaller piece on the side, a larger piece, and the top. All held together by a few screws with nuts that can be tightened.
